Weather Update Spring 2022

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Across Western Ontario, last night was massive rain, thunderstorms, and tornado warnings.

There were reports of tornados in the Dinorwic and Dryden areas.

Thunder Bay

At 05:30 am this morning it is 10 headed to a high of 22 today under mainly cloudy skies. There will be a 40 per cent potential for precipitation this morning and into the early afternoon. Winds will be from the southwest gusting from 40 to 60 km/h.

Humidex 25 and UV Index at 6 or high.

Tonight will remain cloudy, with a 30 per cent potential for rain overnight. Winds will be from the west at 30 gusting up to 60. The low overnight will be 7.

Fort Frances

A Rainfall Warning remains in effect for Fort Frances. There is a risk of a thunderstorm this morning. Winds will be 40 gusting to 60 from the south. The high for the day will be 15, however through the afternoon it will be falling to 8.

UV Index will be 3 or moderate.

Tonight will see showers ending followed by cloudy skies. There is a 30 per cent potential for rain this evening. Skies will be clearing after midnight. Winds will be from the west at 30 gusting to 50 before dropping off around midnight.

Temperature will be steady near +7.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

The region remains under a rainfall warning this morning. It is 16 this morning.

The forecast is calling for showers beginning early this morning. There will be a risk of a thunderstorm this morning and early this afternoon.

Local rainfall expect amounts of 5 to 10 mm. Winds will be from the southeast 20 km/h gusting to 50 becoming west 30 gusting to 50 near noon.

UV index 3 or moderate.

Tonight will see rain ending this evening then cloudy with 30 per cent chance of showers. Local amount another 5 mm. Wind will be from the west at 30 km/h gusting to 60. Low overnight of 5.

Sachigo Lake

Showers to wind down the last day of May. There is a risk of a thunderstorm in the afternoon. Rainfall amounts will be 5 to 10 mm. Winds will be from the east at 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light in the afternoon. High +16.

UV index 3 or moderate.

For Tuesday night rain is expected. There will be a risk of a thunderstorm early in the evening. Rainfall total amounts of 5 to 10 mm.

Winds will becoming northwest 20 km/h in the evening. Low overnight of +2.
