THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – There are weather alerts for precipitation across Western Ontario.
Thunder Bay
It is cloudy and +7 in Thunder Bay headed to a high of 14. Winds are shifting this morning to be from the east at 20 km/h.
The UV index will be 5 or moderate.
This evening will see showers with the risk of a thunderstorm. 10 to 20 mm of precipitation are forecast. Winds will remain from the east at 20 km/h before becoming light around midnight. The overnight low will be 11.
Fort Frances
Fort Frances is under a Special Weather Statement this morning. Rain is expected with a total for today of ups to 30 mm.
Showers will be starting this afternoon. There will be a risk of a thunderstorm. During the afternoon, 5-10 mm of precipitation is expected.
Winds will be southeast at 20 gusting to 40 km/h this morning. The high will be 21.
The Humidex will be 26 and the UV Index will be 5 or moderate.
This evening, showers will be ending after midnight followed by cloudy skies with a 40 per cent chances of more rain. There will be a risk of a thunderstorm this evening and continuing overnight.
The low overnight will be 15.
Dryden and Vermilion Bay
A Special Weather Statement is in effect for Dryden and Vermilion Bay.
It is +12 this morning under cloudy skies, rain will begin this afternoon, along with the risk of a thunderstorm. There could be up to 30 mm of rain by the end of the day.
The high for Sunday will be +18.
Showers will be ending tonight, however cloudy skies will continue with a 40 per cent potential for showers will remain.
Winds will be from the southeast at 20 km/h becoming light after midnight.
Sachigo Lake
It will be +18 in Sachigo Lake today. While skies will be mainly cloudy, there will be a 30 per cent potential for precipitation. Winds will be from the east at 30 gusting to 50 km/h.
The UV Index will be 6 or moderate.
Tonight will see continue clouds, with rain showers starting near midnight. The overnight low will be +9.
