Plane Crash in Sandy Lake Claims One Life

SANDY LAKE – Sandy Lake First Nation Chief and Council have confirmed a plane crash in the community of Sandy Lake approximately that happened at 6:50 pm on May 26, 2022 with the Sandy Lake Seaplane’s Cessna float aircraft.

There is one confirmed fatality.

There will be an official investigation and the crash site has been secured.

At this difficult time the family is requesting that no one post pictures of the crash site on all social media platforms.

The Chief and Council will make further updates as they become available.
