Andrea Horwath Cancels Public Appearances in Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – ELECTION 360 – Andrea Horwath has tested positive for COVID-19 this morning. That has put a crimp into plans for the New Democrat Leader to attend a campaign event in Sault Ste. Marie and has led to the cancellation of plans to be in Thunder Bay as well.

“Andrea’s greatest strength is meeting people and connecting with them where they’re at. She listens, she cares, and it shows. We’re really disappointed that we’re going to lose that for a few days, states a spokesperson for the New Democrat leader.

The New Democrats state that, “We have always had contingency plans for this campaign, knowing that COVID is still among us. So many people have had to make adjustments to their lives throughout this pandemic, and so will our campaign. We’ll be able to pivot to Zoom events, as well as tapping into the strength of our amazing, diverse candidate team”.

This morning, Andrea will be on Zoom instead of in person as we talk about good jobs that actually pay the bills in Sault Ste. Marie.

We’ll keep Ontario updated on how Andrea will connect with folks while staying safely apart for the next few days.”
