Ontario NDP Promise Paid Sick Leave

THUNDER BAY – ELECTION 360 – When asked if Doug Ford would support permanent paid sick days, he refused – again.

The Conservatives have never supported permanent paid sick days, voting against them over 25 times. He even excluded gig and contract workers from the temporary pandemic program that will expire on July 31.

Today, given the opportunity to commit to permanent paid sick days, Ford wouldn’t.

Andrea Horwath and the NDP will fix what is broken in Ontario, including legislating 10 permanent personal emergency leave days for all workers, so they can stay home if they are sick or are caring for a sick child. We’ll work with businesses to ensure they have predictability and the support they need as we make this transition.
