Weather Update Spring 2022

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – Welcome to Saturday. There are no weather alerts or warnings in effect.

Flood Warnings are in effect from all of the rain the region has received, and many of the area watersheds are experiencing very high levels of water and very rapid flow rates. Be very careful around creeks, streams, and rivers.

Thunder Bay

Saturday will start off with clear skies. It is +7 this morning at 06:15 in the NNL Newsroom. Today’s high will be 20.

Expect a clear skies to give way to a mix of sun and cloud by this afternoon which will come with a 30 per cent possibility of precipitation. There will be a risk of a Thunderstorm later this afternoon.

The UV Index will be 7 or high.

Skies will be partly cloudy this evening and that 30 per cent chance of rain will continue. There is a chance of a thunderstorm again early this evening. Overnight the temperature will be +8.

Fort Frances

It is 8 under clear skies in Fort Frances. There will be however increasing clouds along with a 60 per cent potential for rain with the risk of thunderstorms by this afternoon.

Winds will be from the southwest 20 km/h gusting to 60 this morning. The high for Saturday will be 18.

The UV index will be 5 or moderate.

This evening will see clouds with the 60 percent potential for rain continued. Winds will be gusting from the southwest at 20 km/h to 40 km/h before becoming light later in the evening. The low overnight will be 7.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

It is 12 headed to a high of 19 in Dryden and Vermilion Bay for Saturday. There will be increasing clouds this morning along with a 60 per cent potential for rain. There will also be a risk of a thunderstorm this afternoon.

Winds will be from the southwest at 30 km/h gusting to 60 this morning.

The UV Index will be 5 or moderate.

This evening, skies will be cloudy along with a 60 per cent possibility of more rain. There will be a risk of a thunderstorm early this evening. Winds will remain gusty. Expect 30 km/h to 50 km/h winds which will become calmer by Sunday morning. The overnight low will be 5.

Sachigo Lake

It is 7 in Sachigo this morning. The high will be 18. Skies will be cloudy and there will be a 60 per cent possibility of drizzle today. Fog patches will be dissipating this morning. Winds will be from the south gusting from 30 to 50 km/h early Saturday morning.

The UV Index will be 7 or high.

Tonight will see continued clouds along with a 60 per cent possibility of rain along with the risk of an evening thunderstorm. Winds will be 20 gusting to 40 km/h. The overnight low will be 4.
