THUNDER BAY – NEWS – The cleaning up efforts across Thunder Bay continue.

Street and sidewalk cleaning is ongoing. Although the spring weather has delayed some of the efforts crews have been out trying to keep up.

Red River Road will be closed on Sunday for repairs starting at 08:00 am.

River Street remains closed due to a sinkhole that opened up last Friday.

Dealing with the potholes is taking a lot longer. However the hot asphalt plant is now open.

There are also a number of sinkholes which have happened especially near drainage sewers.

City Manager Norm Gale states, “The City does not always have the ability to address these issues immediately, so making the public aware of the hazard with barricades or traffic cones is appropriate until the repair can be made.  There is currently a limited supply of traffic control devices to identify the issues and provide public protection. We are working on several repairs across the City on a priority basis”.
