THUNDER BAY – CRIME – Police have arrested a Thunder Bay man and charged him with numerous drug trafficking related offences after responding to a reported disturbance Thursday night.
Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were dispatched to a residential address in the 200 block of Ravenwood Avenue just after 9:30 pm on Thursday, May 12th to check on the welfare of a person believed to be in distress.
Police learned a male, possibly armed, was also inside the home.
As police arrived to the home they observed a male and female exiting. Further investigation found that the male was in possession of a substance believed to be crack cocaine.
Police later located and seized a quantity of pills believed to be Pregabalin, a quantity of suspected Trenbolone Acetate, a quantity of suspected Drostanolone Propionate, a quantity of suspected Concerta, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
The accused was transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.
James Jeffrey JONASSON, 32, of Thunder Bay, is charged with:
• Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Schedule 3 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
• Possession of a Schedule 4 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 x 2
• Breach of Probation
Jonasson appeared in bail court on Friday, May 13 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
