The NCAA basketball association is filled with college students/ athletes whose dream is to make it to the NBA and play against or with some of the greatest in the NBA. To achieve this goal, these NCAA players must show the NBA and world why they deserve to be a part of the greatest basketball league in the world. The one player who stands out from the plethora of NCAA players is Kevin Major.
Kevin Major, a 6’3 Point guard for Penn State University, was born on April 15, 1997, in New York City. Currently, the 24-year-old player is getting a degree in business management and is handling his academic responsibility while managing to be the best player that Penn State has seen in years. His determination and drive to be the best college basketball player certainly shows.
As evidenced by his NCAA stats, he’s only advancing rapidly. As of the beginning of his college career, Kevin has accumulated 1000 points, an amazing feat that only a few players can accomplish. Kevin has the most assists in the country as well. He is continuously averaging 20 points per game. He has been named the PSUAC Conference Player of the Week for his stellar basketball performance for the second time. The United States Collegiate Athletic Association has also recognized Kevin’s perseverance to succeed. On January 25, 2022, Kevin Major was announced as the USCAA National Player of the Week. As a result of his tenacity and skill, Kevin has been named the Conference and National Player of the Year. Kevin has been nominated for Player of the Year, which is a privilege for a college athlete.
Kevin was not always the outstanding basketball player he is today. He spent years honing his skills. Kevin grew up in a single-parent home with his mother in New York. His mother means everything to him, and she is a big part of how he got to where he is today. His mother told him never to give up and never quit, no matter how difficult things became. Seeing his mother never give up on him motivated him to make her proud. His mom is over the moon because he got a full ride to Penn State University, and he strives to be the best at everything he does.
Kevins’ journey is inspiring; his grit and determination have gotten him to the point where he is today in his life. I am ready to see what else this fantastic player has in store for us in his future. I do not know about you all, but I am mentally and emotionally prepared to see him play in the NBA!
