Winter Weather Update

Thunder Bay – WEATHER – A seasonable winter day as we head to the official start of Winter on Tuesday. The trend appears to be for cooler temperatures looking forward to Christmas Day next Saturday.

Thunder Bay

Monday in Thunder Bay will see cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of more flurries early in the morning then a mix of sun and cloud later in the day. Winds will be from the northwest at 30 km/h gusting to 60.

The temperature will fall to minus 14 in the afternoon. Wind chill minus 12 in the morning and minus 22 in the afternoon.

Partly cloudy skies for Monday night. Winds will be from the northwest at 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light later in the the evening. Low minus 20. Wind chill near minus 24.

Fort Frances

Mainly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of snow flurries in the morning and early in the afternoon are forecast for Fort Frances. Winds will be from the west at 30 km/h gusting to 50.

The temperature os going to be falling to minus 18 in the afternoon. Wind chill near minus 26.

Partly cloudy skies to start the evening. Skies will becoming cloudy after midnight then periods of snow with total amounts of 2 centimetres expected. Winds will be light at up to 15 km/h. Low minus 22. Wind chill minus 22 in the evening and minus 27 overnight.

Sandy Lake

Sandy Lake will see periods of light snow ending near noon then mainly cloudy skies. Winds will be from the northwest at 20 km/h gusting to 40. The temperature will remain steady near minus 20. Wind chill near minus 30. Risk of frostbite to exposed skin, bundle up.

Monday night will see partly cloudy skies with light winds up to 15 km/h. Low minus 24. Wind chill near minus 32. Risk of frostbite continues overnight.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

Mainly cloudy skies with a 30 per cent chance of snow flurries in the morning and early in the afternoon. Winds will be from the west at 30 km/h gusting to 50. High minus 16. Wind chill minus 31 in the morning and minus 25 in the afternoon. Risk of frostbite for exposed skin so be sure to bundle up.

Partly cloudy skies for Monday night with winds from the west at 20 km/h becoming light early in the evening. Low minus 23. Wind chill near minus 27.
