Thunder Bay – WEATHER – There is a taste of cold winter weather across the region this morning. For history buffs, today is the anniversary of the 1966 blizzard in Manitoba and Winnipeg. That snowstorm on March 4, 1966 was one of the worst ever to hit the province of Manitoba.
The blizzard shut down the city of Winnipeg. Roads were impassible, residents took to snowmobiles to navigate the city streets that were buried under 12 feet of snow in some areas.
