Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting five new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region.
There are as of today, 143 active cases in the district.
Three of the new cases reported are at the Thunder Bay District Jail, and one at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre. One case is pending.
Four of the cases are in Thunder Bay and surrounding communities. One is in a First Nation community.
Seven cases have been resolved.
The Health Unit (TBDHU) is also advising the public of locations where they could have been exposed to COVID-19.
Individuals who were on Air Canada / JAZZ flight AC393 from Toronto to Thunder Bay on January 26, 2020 and were seated in Rows 24-30 could have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus.
The Health Unit says that the overall the risk of someone being infected would be low, however, TBDHU are asking individuals affected to monitor themselves carefully for symptoms, immediately self-isolate if they have even one symptom and to call the TBDHU at (807) 625-5900 or call your local assessment center to arrange for testing.
Ontario Provincial Numbers
Ontario is reporting 2,063 new cases of COVID-19 on Sunday.
There are 713 new cases of the virus in Toronto, 379 cases in Peel Region, and 178 cases in York Region.
