Cases of COVID-19 Increasing in Region During “Stay-at-Home” Declaration”?
Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 5 (five) new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region. The total number of current active cases is 158.
Two of the new cases are at the Thunder Bay District Jail, and One at the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre.
Two cases are from close contact.
Seven cases have been resolved.
Outbreak at BISNO
Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) and BISNO confirm that an outbreak has been declared at Brain Injury Services of Northern Ontario (BISNO), Cumberland Place in Thunder Bay.
The outbreak declaration is being made as two individuals associated with the facility have recently been confirmed to have COVID-19. BISNO has implemented the necessary precautions to limit spread and TBDHU will continue to monitor and assess the situation.

Are Case numbers climbing in Thunder Bay District”?
The number of cases of COVID-19 since the December 26, 2020 Lockdown and Stay at Home Orders appear to be on the increase. However the TBDHU reports that the case positivity rate of 1.3 per cent has been constant over the past two weeks.
The Thunder Bay District is reporting 39.4 cases per 100,000 of population over that period, with the past two weeks remaining constant.

Southbridge Roseview Update
Southbridge Roseview Long-Term Care Home remains in a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak.
On Sunday the facility reports three cases, with 2 active residents and 1 active staff case. This staff member is currently isolating and recovering at home.
States of Emergency in First Nations
There are declared States of Emergency in Ginoogaming and Constance Lake First Nations.
Ontario Report
The province is reporting 2,417 new cases on Sunday, this is an increase from the 2,359 cases reported on Saturday.
There were another 50 deaths reported in Ontario on Sunday this brings the provincial death count to 5,803 people.
The hotspots in the province are Toronto with 785 new cases, followed by Peel Region with 404, and York Region with 215.
