TBDHU Reports Eight New COVID-19 Cases

Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is reporting 8 new COVID-19 cases in residents in the TBDHU Region.

The current number of active cases is 84.

Of the eight new cases, four are in Thunder Bay and surrounding municipalities. Two are in district communities and two are in First Nations communities.

Two cases are a result of travel outside of the region. One new case is a part of the outbreak at the Thunder Bay District Jail, and one is from close contact.

Four of the new cases are still pending.

There are no residents at the Southbridge Roseview Long-Term Care Home with COVID-19. The home is in a confirmed COVID-19 outbreak with 2 active staff cases. These staff members are currently isolating and recovering at home.

There are two patients with COVID-19 in Intensive Care, and three patients in hospital.

Over 3000 Cases Reported in Ontario

Province-Wide Ontario is reporting 3,326 cases of COVID-19 and nearly 71,200 tests completed.

There are 968 new cases in Toronto, 572 in Peel Region, 357 in York Region and 268 in Windsor-Essex County.
