Minister of Health Patty Hajdu Will Stay at Her Post
OTTAWA – POLITICS – Prime Minister Trudeau will be doing a minor shuffle of his cabinet on Tuesday. The move is generated by an announcement from Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry that he plans to not run in the next federal election.
The Prime Minister is on record of wanting his more senior ministers to be running and being able to defend the government’s record in the next election.
Sources tell NetNewsLedger that the shuffle will likely see Francois-Philippe Champagne, the Foreign Affairs Minister replace Bains.
Transportation Minister Marc Garneau will move from Transportation to Foreign Affairs.
Transportation will likely be headed by Omar Alghabra, a Toronto MP.
The Liberals have been under pressure with the current minority government, but are enjoying positive polling numbers.
