Thunder Bay – WEATHER – The warmer weather trend for Western Ontario continues. Across the region temperatures remain above seasonal normals. A great time to get outside. However be careful on frozen lakes, rivers and streams the warmer conditions could be impacting the safety of frozen water bodies.

Thunder Bay Outlook

It is -3°C at 08:00 am EST under cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries this morning as well as a risk of freezing drizzle. Fog patches are going to be dissipating this morning. Winda up to 15 km/h. Temperature steady near -3°C with a wind chill near -8°C.

Tonight will see mainly cloudy skies with winds of up to 15 km/h. The overnight low will be -10°C with the wind chill at -7°C this evening and -15°C overnight.

The high and low records are not in danger of falling today. It was +4.9°C ban in 2002, and a chilly -37.9°C in 1977.

Kenora and Lake of the Woods Outlook

It is -6 in Kenora at 07:00 am CST under cloudy skies. Fog patches will be dissipating this morning. Winds will be calm blowing at up to 15 km/h. The high for the day will be -3. The wind chill will make it feel more like -10 this morning and -5 this afternoon.

Tonight, overcast skies will continue. Winds will be west 20 km/h becoming light late this evening. The low overnight will be -9. The wind chill -6 this evening and -13 overnight.
