COVID-19 Cases Spiking in Ontario Especially in Hotspots
Thunder Bay – COVID-19 – Ontario’s Health Minister Elliott reports there are 4,249 new cases of COVID-19 in the province.
There are 1,382 new cases in Toronto, 691 in Peel, 427 in York Region, 213 in Niagara and 184 in Windsor-Essex County.
The numbers are climbing. This morning, Premier Ford said on Monday the latest modelling will be released to the public and “people will fall out of their chairs”.
Premier Ford this morning at his press briefing says “Everything is on the table. This is the most serious situation we’ve ever been in since the beginning of the pandemic… please, please, please stay home.”
The Premier says, “This is getting out of control. When the modelling numbers come out next week it’s going to be a real wake up call”.
Ontario NDP Leader Andrea Horwath says that the Premier should be releasing those modelling numbers today. “This isn’t a game,” Horwath told journalists on a Zoom call on Friday.
“All the Premier is saying is wash your hands, and wait until April for the vaccine”, added Horwath.
