Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – Andrea Horwath the Ontario NDP leader is demanding action from Ontario Premier Doug Ford.

Today Andrea Horwath talked about the need for action, including bringing in the military to assist in long-term care homes.

James Murray from NetNewsLedger asked the NDP leader, following a release from the Thunder Bay District Health Unit of low-risk COVID-19 exposure on an Air Canada flight to Thunder Bay from Toronto why the Premier is asking for action on international flights but not on flights within Canada, especially from High-Risk areas like Toronto.

Background

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) is advising the public of locations where they could have been exposed to COVID-19.

Individuals who were on the flights and seated in the rows noted below could have been exposed to the COVID-19 virus.

Overall the risk of someone being infected would be low, however, we are asking individuals affected to monitor themselves carefully for symptoms, immediately self-isolate if they have even one symptom and to call the TBDHU at (807) 625-5900 or call your local assessment center to arrange for testing.
