MARTEN FALLS – COVID-19 – Marten Falls First Nation is moving into lockdown.

Chief and Council and the pandemic team have made the decision due to increased cases and deaths from COVID-19 in the outlying region, including Thunder Bay. The lockdown will run until January 15, 2021.

No non-community members will be allowed in the community, passenger air flights will be not allowed during the lockdown. Cargo flights will still be permitted.

Emergency medical will be allowed. Going out of the community for scheduled medical appointments will be allowed.

There will be a requirement for anyone entering the community to have proof of negative COVID-19 testing, and there will be an 11 to 14 day isolation period.

The restrictions are in effect to keep the community safe.

All essential services in the community will be running.
