Thunder Bay – The OPP have reported on the fatal motor vehicle accident on Highway 11/17 near Pearl.
The highway is now open.

Earlier the highway was closed in both directions at the #5 Road South due to a serious two vehicle accident.
Fire crews, a number of ambulances including the Orange Air Ambulance have responded as well as the Ontario Provincial Police.
We are getting reports that this closure will be for a while, as OPP are investigating the accident. It is currently estimated that it could be after 8:00 PM EST before the highway can be re-opened.

Shuniah Fire Rescue which was on the scene has tweeted they have cleared the scene.
The highway has been closed by the OPP and an investigation is underway.
