Thunder Bay – WEATHER – There is snow in the forecast for last tonight. If you have travel plans for Wednesday, expect highways to be snowy.

There is a winter storm for Duluth. NOAA Duluth says that “Accumulating snow is expected to start this afternoon across the Northland. Snow totals will generally be 2-4″ for most areas. Locally higher amounts are possible along the North Shore and in the higher elevations of Northwest Wisconsin. North of the Iron Range, snow accumulations will be slightly lower with 1-3″ expected. Snow will continue into tonight before tapering off Wednesday morning.”

Thunder Bay Weather

Sandy Lake First Nation Weather

It is -16 in Sandy Lake this morning under mainly cloudy with a 30 percent chance of flurries this morning and early this afternoon. Periods of light snow are forecast for this afternoon with two centimetres expected. Winds will be southwest 20 km/h becoming light this morning. High for the day will be -10. Wind chill -26 this morning and -15 this afternoon.

Tonight, the weather service is calling for periods of light snow with total amounts of 2 centimetres expected. Winds up to 15 km/h. The overnight low -15. Wind chill -16 this evening and -21 overnight.

Dryden and Vermilion Bay

It is -21 in Dryden this morning. Environment Canada says a mix of sun and clouds with winds becoming south 20 km/h late this morning. Today’s high will be -9. The wind chill -29 this morning and -16 this afternoon. Risk of frostbite.

Tonight will see cloudy skies with periods of snow beginning this evening. Total snowfall amounts of 5 centimetres are expected. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low -11. Wind chill near -16.
