Thunder Bay – COVID-19 Update – Beginning Monday, December 21, 2020, Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU) will change how COVID-19 cases are reported for our service area.

The daily updates that are provided will now use a different format and focus on the changes to case numbers and status since the last update. These numbers reflect the changes that are made to the TBDHU website on the Daily dashboard under Current COVID status.

The detailed list of cases will no longer be provided or posted on social media.

TBDHU will continue to report outbreaks such as those in schools and long-term care homes and other settings as needed. We will continue to advise possible exposures for which TBDHU is unable to contact everyone directly to advise them of their potential exposure to COVID-19. These are also included on the TBDHU website.

Changes to reporting schedule over the holiday period:

Daily reports will not be provided on December 25 or 26, 2020 or January 1, 2021. An update will be provided on Sunday, December 27, 2020 and Saturday, January 2, 2021 respectively. For any date with no daily report the next report will combine the data to include those dates.
