Snowfall Warning in Effect for Marathon and Schreiber

MARATHON – WEATHER – Environment Canada has upgraded the winter weather advisory to a Snowfall Warning for Marathon and Schreiber.

The weather service says that snow at times heavy is expected today.

The Winter Weather Travel Advisory has been upgraded to a Snowfall Warning.

Lake enhanced snow will continue throughout the day. Additional snowfall amounts up to 15 centimeters are expected to fall by this evening.

Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
