Thunder Bay – WEATHER – For December 3, 2020, the morning’s weather outlook starts with a pair of weather alerts.

Environment Canada has issued a Freezing Drizzle Advisory for the following areas:

Freezing drizzle advisory in effect for:

  • Geraldton – Longlac – Caramat
  • Manitouwadge – Hornepayne
  • Nakina – Aroland – Pagwa
  • White River – Dubreuilville

Areas of freezing drizzle early this morning. Freezing drizzle is being reported in the Geraldton area. Considering that yesterday, Geraldton started the day as Ontario’s coldest spot, it is a contrast in changing temperatures.

Thunder Bay Weather

This morning it is right at the freezing mark in Thunder Bay under mainly cloudy skies with winds blowing northwest 20 km/h becoming light this afternoon. While the temperature is at the 0°C mark, the wind chill makes it feel colder at minus 7°C this morning.

Tonight, Environment Canada says to expect mainly cloudy conditions to continue with a 30 percent chance of flurries late this evening and overnight. Winds up to 15 km/h. Low minus 6°C. Wind chill minus 5°C this evening and minus 10°C overnight.

The city is a ways from the highest and lowest temperatures recorded. It was a balmy 12.2°C back in 1962. The lowest temperature recorded in the city was a chilly -32.2°C back in 1964.

Geraldton

It is currently -3 in Geraldton. The forecast is calling for freezing drizzle and a few flurries until near noon. Winds up to 15 km/h. High minus 3°C. The wind chill minus 13°C this morning and minus 6°C this afternoon.

Tonight, the weather service says to expect a few flurries ending near midnight then mainly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries. Wind up to 15 km/h. The overnight low minus 9°C. Wind chill minus 6°C this evening and minus 15°C overnight.

Pickle Lake

It is -5°C in Pickle Lake under mainly cloudy skies. There is a 40 percent chance of flurries today. Winds will blow at up to 15 km/h. High minus 4°C. The wind chill near minus 11°C.

Tonight mainly cloudy skies will continue with a 40 percent chance of flurries early this evening. Winds up to 15 km/h. Temperature steady near minus 10°C. Wind chill minus 10°C this evening and minus 20°C overnight.

Kenora and Lake of the Woods

It is -5°C in Kenora this morning. Environment Canada says to expect a mix of sun and cloud for Wednesday. Winds up to 15 km/h. High minus 1°C. Wind chill minus 10°C this morning and minus 5°C this afternoon.
Tonight, those mainly cloudy skies will continue. There will be a 30 percent chance of flurries late this evening and overnight. Wind up to 15 km/h. Low minus 8°C. Wind chill minus 7°C this evening and minus 12°C overnight.
