Entrepreneurship is a journey, and many people start small before moving onto bigger things. Ryan Pownall has been working for himself since he was only 17, and he’s moved onto creating Social Press Agencies, one of the leading public relations agencies in the world.

Pownall started his career in the nightclub and festival space. He hosted Spring Break Cancun before his 18th birthday, and he hosted for ten years in a row. He opened his first nightclub called PLURR when he was only 21, and he’s owned five different clubs in the last four years. He’s thrown the World’s Largest Beer Pong Tournament, which has been certified by the Guinness Book of World Records. “I love getting paid to bring the party to people,” says Pownall. “Bringing people joy is one of my favorite things to do, and I’ve been able to do that with my nightclubs and festivals.” From these humble beginnings, Pownall has branched out and brought his success to another level. He co-founded an organization just this year called Social Giveaways, which helped influencers and companies expand their presence online. He’s since sold that company so he can focus on Social Press Agencies. They do work in social growth, consulting, management, and verification. “We have endorsements from 4Loco, Dan Bilzerian, and many other celebrities and brands. I’m so glad that I’ve made time in my schedule to work on this project and help other people succeed online.”

“I’ve never had a real job in my life,” Pownall said. “Of course, I’ve worked hard, but I’ve never punched a clock. I would recommend this path to most people as a way to be yourself and try new things.” Although Pownall loves to party and make money in the field, he’s since begun feeling a little drained. “When being at a festival started making me exhausted and energized, I knew I wanted to branch out and expand my entrepreneurial ventures.” In 2021, he wants to focus on his PR agency, as well as social media content creation.

Being an entrepreneur gives you a lot of freedom. Shifting your career path as Ryan Pownall did is one of the perks of working for yourself.
