Thunder Bay Weather Outlook

Cloudy skies this morning. It is right at the freezing mark this morning. There is a 40 percent chance of flurries this afternoon. As well there is a risk of freezing drizzle this morning. Winds will become west 20 km/h near noon. High plus 1°C.

Compared to the records, -22.8°C was the coldest it has ever been on this day recorded back in 1975. 9.4°C back in 1962 is the warmest it has ever been recorded in Thunder Bay.

For tonight, skies will remain mainly cloudy. There will be a 40 percent chance of flurries this evening. Winds will be northwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming light near midnight. The overnight low minus 9°C. Wind chill minus 13 overnight.

Attawapiskat

Our regional cold spot this morning, Attawapiskat is under cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries. Snow flurries beginning late this afternoon. There is a risk of freezing drizzle this morning. Winds becoming southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 this morning are forecast. High will be zero. The wind chill minus 11°C this morning.

Tonight those snow flurries will be ending late this evening followed by mainly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries is predicted. Snowfall amounts of 2 cm. Winds will blow from the west at 20 km/h gusting to 40. Low minus 9°C. Wind chill minus 7°C this evening and minus 16°C overnight.

Kenora and Lake of the Woods

Snow flurries ending this morning then cloudy skies with a 40 percent chance of flurries. Snowfall amounts of up to 2 cm. Winds will be southwest 20 km/h gusting to 40 becoming northwest 20 gusting to 40 this morning. The temperature will be steady near minus 2°C. Wind chill near minus 9°C.

For tonight skies will remain cloudy with a 70 percent chance of flurries. Winds will be west 20 km/h becoming light this evening. Low minus 8°C. Wind chill near minus 13°C.
