THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – It is a little chilly across the region this morning. The coldest spot in Ontario is -2.7°C Peawanuck Airport, In Thunder Bay, it is 1°C, and in Kenora, it is 4°C.

Thunder Bay Forecast

Environment Canada says to expect a mix of sun and cloud with a 30 percent chance of showers late this morning and early this afternoon. The skies will clear this afternoon. High 14°C.

For tonight we can expect clear skies with increasing cloudiness after midnight. The overnight low will be plus 3°C.

Heading toward the weekend, for Friday the weather service says to expect mainly cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of showers for Friday morning. However, skies will clear in the afternoon. The forecast high 20°C.

Kenora Forecast

Sunny skies are in the forecast for the Lake of the Woods region for Thursday. Fog patches in parts of the region will be dissipating this morning. Thursday’s high 14°C.

Clear skies will remain until near midnight when clouds are expected. Wind becoming south 20 km/h this evening is in the forecast. The overnight low should be 10°C.

Friday will see mainly sunny skies. Winds will become northwest 20 km/h late in the afternoon. The high in the Lake of the Woods Region will be 19°C.

Northview Weather

Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug First Nation will see mainly cloudy skies today. There is a forty percent chance of snow flurries this morning. Winds will be west at 20 km/h. The high for the day is predicted to be 3°C.

For tonight there will be periods of snow with accumulations of 2-4 centimeters. The low will be 0°C.

On Friday the snow will give way to periods of drizzle or more snow near noon. There is the possibility of 2 to four more centimeters of the white stuff. Friday the high temperature will be 3°C.

Washaho Cree Nation / Fort Severn

Ontario’s most northern community today will see cloudy skies with a 30 percent chance of flurries this afternoon. Winds from the west at 40 km/h gusting to 60. A high of zero is predicted. However, with the wind, the temperature will feel like -10°C this morning. Tonight the clouds will continue with a 30% chance of flurries. A low of -5°C is expected. A wind chill minus 11°C this evening.
