Toronto Man Arrested in Thunder Bay with Stolen Vehicle

THUNDER BAY / KENORA – Police officers with the Thunder Bay Police Service located and arrested a wanted man with assistance from the OPP’s Kenora detachment Monday.

Officers with the Uniform Patrol Branch were on general patrol just after 2:15 pm EDT on Monday, October 5, 2020, when they were informed by dispatchers about a male wanted by the OPP possibly being in the area.

The male was wanted on charges linked to a sexual assault investigation.

Two TBPS officers at a red light at the intersection of Balmoral Street and the Harbour Expressway spotted a vehicle matching the description of the wanted male’s vehicle. Further investigation revealed the vehicle was being driven by this wanted male.

Additional units were dispatched to the area and a traffic stop was conducted near the intersection of the Harbour Expressway and Highway 11-17.

The male was arrested without further incident.

Chemar GUILLAUME, 31, of Toronto, was transferred to the OPP and was expected to appear in court to face the charges against him.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
