Thunder Bay Transit Service Adjustments Effective October 1, 2020

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Transit has been under a lot of pressures during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Thunder Bay Transit will be adjusting service levels until further notice to best meet fluctuating ridership levels and customer demands.

Effective Oct. 1, Thunder Bay Transit will increase and adjust service as follows:

The Waterfront Terminal will re-open to the public. For the safety of all passengers waiting for buses inside of the terminal building, occupancy will be limited to 16 persons maximum. Masks or face coverings are mandatory when inside the terminal building, and everyone must maintain physical distancing of two metres or six feet from others.

The #8-James will be extended in order to provide service between Confederation College and Intercity Shopping Centre as per the following:

  • Monday to Saturday:  9 am to 9 pm on a 40-45 minute frequency
  • Sunday: 10 am to 6 pm on a 40-45 minute frequency

The #9-Junot will be extended in order to provide service between Lakehead University and Intercity Shopping Centre as per the following:

  • Monday to Saturday: 9 am to 9 pm on a 40-45 minute frequency
  • Sunday: 10 am to 6 pm on a 40-45 minute frequency
