Greenstone OPP Lay Drug Trafficking Charges on Two Residents

GREENSTONE – Two Greenstone residents face drug trafficking charges following an investigation by the Greenstone OPP.

The OPP report that on September 16, 2020, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the North West Region Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a 3rd Avenue residence in Geraldton.

As a result of the search warrant, Police seized 16.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine, 6.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 8.8 grams of psilocybin (mushrooms), and 1 oxycodone tablet, Canadian currency, three conductive energy weapons (tasers), brass knuckles, and other drug-related paraphernalia.

Chad CYR, 25 years old of Greenstone has been charged with the following offenses:

  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Trafficking in a Schedule I substance – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon X 6
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Fail to Comply with Undertaking

The accused was held in custody and will appear again by audio in the Ontario Court of Justice on September 21, 2020.

Crystel OGUSHING, 27 years old of Greenstone has been charged with the following

  • Possession of a Schedule III substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Weapon X 6

The accused was released and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice next on October 22, 2020, to answer to the charges.

None of the charges have been proven in a court of law.
