Two Suspects in Custody Charged with Second Degree Murder in Death of Christopher Meeseetawageesic

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Two people have been charged with Second Degree Murder in the death of Christopher Meeseetawageesic.

Thunder Bay Police were originally dispatched to an area in the 400 block of Main Street just after 10:10 am EDT on Sunday, August 30, 2020, after a passerby called 911 about a possible body in the area.

When police arrived they located the body of a deceased male, who has since been identified as Christopher David MEESEETAWAGEESIC, 31, of Thunder Bay. Next of kin were notified.

The Major Crimes Unit began investigating the circumstances surrounding Meeseetawagesic’s death and determined it to be a homicide.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, police identified two suspects, a male, and female, as connected to the homicide.

On Thursday, September 3, 2020, members of the Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from the Community Oriented Response, Cyber, Identification Units and Uniform Patrol Branch, located and arrested the two suspects.

Kenneth Layton MOONIAS, 29, of Thunder Bay, is expected to appear in bail court today to face charges of Second-Degree Murder and Breach of Probation x 2.

Natalie Roseanne MOONIAS, 31, of Thunder Bay, is also expected to appear in bail court today to face charges of Second Degree Murder and Breach of Probation x 2.

The investigation remains ongoing.
