Thunder Bay Police Investigating Homicide – Main Street Sudden Death

THUNDER BAY – NEWS – Thunder Bay Police advise that the sudden death on Main Street first reported on Sunday is now a homicide investigation.

Police were originally dispatched to an area in the 400 block of Main Street just after 10:10 am on Sunday, August 30, 2020 after a passerby called 911 about a possible body in the area.

When police arrived they located the body of a deceased male, who has since been identified as Christopher David MEESEETAWAGESIC, 31, of Thunder Bay. Next of kin has been notified.

Members of the TBPS’s Major Crimes Unit continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding MEESEETAWAGESIC’s death.

A post mortem examination is being scheduled to take place in Toronto later this week.

Police are holding a scene around the 400 block of Main Street and request the public continue avoiding this area if possible.
