THUNDER BAY – LIVING – After a short closure of Libraries due to a positive COVID-19 test among the staff, the Waverley and Mary J.L Black Libraries will resume no contact holds pick up and returns effective Monday, August 24 at 10 am.

No contact holds pick up and return of items is being offered at these two locations from Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm.  Items can also be returned via the book drop at Waverley after hours and 24/7 at Mary J.L. Black.

Library patrons who have already received a phone call that holds are ready for pick up, may pick up item(s) at their specified location starting Monday, August 24.  Library patrons who have placed items on hold will receive a phone call when holds are available for pick up.

Library staff are offering programs and services online, and providing new and renewed library memberships by email at comments@tbpl.ca.  The phone service will also resume on Monday.  The community can call 684-6814 from Monday through Friday from 10 am to 4 pm with questions, requests for information, or assistance in placing items on hold.

Library Management has adopted a safe and slow approach to reopening library services for the community. We are currently in phase four of a seven phase plan.  We have put new protocols and policies into place to ensure physical distancing of staff and the public, good hand hygiene, the wearing of PPE such as masks and gloves, and quarantining all items returned for a minimum of 96 hours.

Regular updates and more information is posted on social media and on the Library’s Website.
