THUNDER BAY – NEWS – James Darcel PAYPOMPEE, a 52-year-old Thunder Bay man has been arrested and charged with child pornography charges following an investigation by the Thunder Bay Police Service Cyber Crime Unit.
Police received information in May 2020 regarding the downloading of material involving child sexual abuse.
The Cyber Crime Unit investigation led to the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 0-100 block of Picton Avenue on Thursday, August 13, 2020.
Cyber Crime Unit investigators, assisted by members of the TBPS C.O.R. Unit searched the residence, and seized a number of electronic devices.
52-year-old James Darcel PAYPOMPEE was arrested at the scene. He is charged with:
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Accessing Child Pornography
- Distributing Child Pornography
PAYPOMPEE remains in custody with a court date of August 17, 2020. None of the charges have been proven in court.
