FORT FRANCES – WEATHER – Get set to keep warm. Environment Canada has issued heat warnings for parts of western Ontario today.

The weather service says that temperatures are expected to reach near 30 degrees today and Saturday. Humidex values will likely reach the mid to upper thirties both afternoons.

Heat Warning in effect for:

  • Kakabeka Falls – Whitefish Lake – Arrow Lake
  • Atikokan – Shebandowan – Quetico Park
  • Fort Frances – Emo – Rainy River
  • Seine River Village – Mine Centre

Environment Canada says that Humidex values of 38 are expected for the next 2 days.

Temperatures overnight will remain in the upper teens to near twenty degrees, providing little relief from the heat.

For Thunder Bay, Lake Superior will keep things a little cooler, especially near the lake.
