KENORA – The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Northwest Canine Unit, Kenora Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Kenora Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), and the Forensic Identification Unit are currently investigating an incident that occurred on River Drive, Kenora.
On Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at approximately 8:30 a.m, police were advised of a group of unwanted people at a residence.
A short time later, five individuals were arrested for Criminal Code Offences.
The investigation is continuing, more details will be released.
As a result of the investigation 30-year-old Jade KABESTRA-SAVAGE, 30-year-old Jasmine KABESTRA-SAVAGE, 31-year-old Jeffery LACKNER, 62-year-old Glendon LORANGER, and 36-year-old Shawn NECANAPENACE have been charged with the following Criminal Code(CC) and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act(CDSA) charges;
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking-Cocaine Sec. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance-Methamphetamine Sec. 4(1) CDSA
- Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 Sec. 354(1)(a) CC
Two of the accused were held in custody to attend court on July 3, 2020, and the rest were released on a Form 10 to attend court on August 20, 2020.
