Roll Ball game is a unique combination of roller skates, basketball, handball and throwball. The game was invented by Raju Dabhade of Pune, India, while he was the sports teacher at MES Bal Shikshan Mandir, an English medium school. Dabhade is also Secretary of the International Roll Ball Federation (IRBF). In a span of 17 years, he is credited with 100 goals, two times skipper of World Cup-winning team. He is the record holder for hitting maximum numbers of goals in a world cup tournament. He is the present captain of the open category roll ball team.
During his early days, Aditya was a Speed skater. Raju Dabhade approached him to try a new game. Slowly and steadily he gained interest in the game, he enjoyed the concept and started playing it regularly for years. Aditya’s dedication to this game not only attracted people from India but also attracted people from various parts of the world. one should always have the courage to choose an unrecognised game especially in a country like India. In India, the role ball got an identity as a game in the year 2003. The game today has more than a thousand players across the globe now. The Roll Ball World Cup, held every two years, and South Asian Championships see teams from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Great Britain, Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, China, Bangladesh, Guyana, Uganda, Kuwait, Nepal, Kenya and more participating.
Aditya bagged gold medals in 2008 and 2009 in the Under-19 Federation championship. He is the only player to score 100 international goals. Not to mention he has 111 World Championship goals and 11 Asian Championship goals to his name. optimism is a faith that leads to achievement. Aditya added many beautiful colours to his journey. he has been nominated for the prestigious Arjuna Award for consecutive three times.
He brought laurels to his country by winning Gold in the year 2017 and 2019 and Silver in the ear 2018 during the All India Inter-University Championship.
