Thunder Bay Major Crimes Unit Investigating Shooting Incident in Northwood

THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police are investigating a shooting that happened around in the early morning hours on May 26, 2020, in the North James Street/ Limbrick area in Northwood.

Police report that officers were dispatched to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre at about 3:00 am after they received reports of a male suffering from an injury likely caused by a firearm.

The incident became a major case and now involves members of the TBPS’s Major Crimes Unit.

As a result of their ongoing investigation, police learned the original incident likely occurred in the area of North James and Limbrick Streets at approximately 2 am on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident. The victim’s injuries are believed to be serious but non-life threatening.
