Minister Greg Rickford on Gas Prices – Inter-community Buses – Opening the Economy

THUNDER BAY / KENORA – Kenora Rainy River MPP and Premier Doug Ford’s “Minister of Everything” Greg Rickford talked with NetNewsLedger on Northern Ontario issues.

We talked about the higher than the rest of the province gas prices, the launch of Ontario Northland Transportation intercommunity bus service, and other Northern Ontario issues were the topics discussed.

The Minister says that “There is a light at the end of the tunnel,” with the graduated opening of the economy.

On ONTC, the Minister says, the “Ontario Northlands bus will be able to take you from Toronto right through to Thunder Bay, Kenora, on to Winnipeg.”

On gas prices, Minister Rickford says that the plan is to use what powers the province has to find out why gas prices are so high compared to the rest of the province.

He stated that earlier the competition bureau examined the situation and the are only mandated for criminal activity in price-fixing, and they did not find any evidence of that.
