The Canadian Lakehead Exhibition is popular year after year in Thunder Bay

THUNDER BAY – Midways for fairs, and carnivals in Northwestern Ontario won’t be happening this summer due to COVID-19. The company that supplies the midway rides and attractions for fairs like the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition, and events in Kenora, Dryden, Thunder Bay, Red Lake, Emo and Sioux Lookout.

Michelle Mills of Select Shows says, “We are really going to miss all the events we have been playing, the employees, and the friends. The main thing is to stay healthy, so do that”.

Mills adds, “It doesn’t look like a season this year, our family has never had a summer where we have not been working”.

Select Shows on their Facebook page says “To our amazing 2019 crew. Just wanted to say that we miss you all & we are looking forward to the day we can all reunite. Stay positive everyone, the show will go on”.

There has been widespread speculation that the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition would not happen this year. This decision has put that speculation to fact.

COVID-19 – Coronavirus has claimed more victims in 2020, all the fairs across rural Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario.
