THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service is requesting public assistance in an effort to identify a suspect involved in a recent armed robbery.
Police officers were dispatched to the Husky Lakeside Food Store at 514 Cumberland Street North just before 10:30 pm on Monday, April 27, 2020, following reports of an armed robbery that had just occurred.
Police were told that a male had entered the store armed with a knife, approached a store clerk, and made demands for money. The suspect then fled the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect uttered threats to the clerk during the robbery.
The suspect is described as an Indigenous male standing about six-feet tall with a medium build. He wore dark clothing and a dark face covering during the robbery.
Members of the service’s Break and Enter And Robbery Unit are investigating this incident. As a result of their ongoing efforts, video surveillance footage was obtained showing the suspect at the time of the robbery.
