SAULT STE MARIE – Three people from Thunder Bay have been charged in Sault Ste Marie with drug-related charges.

Sault Ste Marie Police report that on April 23, 2020, officers arrested 51-year-old Claude Corriveau, 20-year-old Angel Fletcher-McIntomy and 31-year-old Janet Hodgson all of Thunder Bay and charged them for possession of a controlled substance.

Police add that at 9:14 pm patrol officers observed a vehicle with a non-functioning tail light. Police conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. Mr. Corriveau was driving and Ms. Fletcher-McIntomy and Ms. Hodgson were passengers.

As officers explained the reason for the traffic stop the driver exited the vehicle to look at the tail light, then went to return to the driver seat. At that time officers observed a bag with a substance believed to be heroin in his pocket.

Officers went to arrest the driver, but he resisted, attempted to get back into the vehicle and kicked at an officer. While he was resisting he gave the bag containing the substance to the passengers. Officers gained control of the driver and arrested him.

Mr. Corriveau is charged with possession of a controlled substance, assaulting a peace officer and obstructing a peace officer. He was held for bail court.

Ms. Fletcher-McIntomy and Ms. Hodgson are charged with possession of a controlled substance. They are both scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2020. None of the charges have been proven in court.
