OPP Traffic Stop Results in Large Seizure of Currency and Dangerous Driving Charges

MCKERROW – On April 18, 2020, at approximately 11:31 am members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to an erratic driving complaint on Highway 17. The officers located and stopped the vehicle on Highway 17 in McKerrow.

As a result of the investigation, a high value of Canadian currency was seized and the investigation is on-going. The Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the OPP assisted with the investigation.

Natenale MULUGETA, 23-years-old, of Toronto, was charged with the following:

  • Dangerous operation contrary to section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused was released on an Appearance Notice and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on July 20, 2020.
