TORONTO – If you are headed south to Toronto, Ottawa, or other points in Southern Ontario, winter weather could jump in and play havoc with your plans heading into Wednesday.
Almost all of southern Ontario is under a special weather statement issued by Environment Canada. A Winter Storm is tracking toward the region with as much as twenty centimeters of snow possible.
Special weather statement in effect for:
- City of Toronto
- City of Ottawa
- City of Hamilton
A winter storm is likely for Wednesday and Wednesday night.
Environment Canada says snow is expected to begin near midnight before becoming heavy Wednesday afternoon. Heavy snow will continue through Wednesday evening before tapering to flurries overnight.
There remains much uncertainty regarding the track of this low, but total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are possible by Thursday morning.
