Minister Rickford Keeping Up-To-Date on Train Derailment in Emo

THUNDER BAY – Kenora Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford has been keeping up-to-date and informed on the train derailment in Emo Ontario. The Minister has been in continual communication with the Mayor of Emo and with CN Rail as well.

“I am continuing to closely monitor the initiatives underway in Emo, Ontario resulting from the train derailment earlier this week,” states the Minister. “My focus has been on ensuring the appropriate resources are being mobilized and actions have undertaken to ensure public safety and security.”

“I will continue to keep in touch with Mayor Harold McQuaker, and have ensured that all resources have been deployed to initiate a quick and concentrated effort in the wake of this derailment,” adds Minister Rickford. “The clean-up effort continues and Highway 602 at the CNR crossing located 1.5 kms south of Highway 11 remains closed in both directions until further notice.”
