Extreme Cold Warnings and Snow Squall Advisories Gripping Northern Ontario

THUNDER BAY – WEATHER – It is back into the deep freeze for much of Northern Ontario.

Environment Canada has issued Extreme Cold Warnings, along with Snow Squall alerts for a number of communities across the region.

Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

  • Red Lake – Woodland Caribou Park
  • Pikangikum – Poplar Hill – MacDowell
  • Big Trout Lake – Kasabonika
  • Sachigo Lake – Bearskin Lake
  • Fort Severn – Washaho Cree Nation
  • Pickle Lake – Cat Lake
  • Mishkeegogaming First Nation
  • Fort Hope – Neskantaga – Marten Falls/Ogoki Post
  • Peawanuck

Dangerous wind chill values near minus 45 are expected tonight and may occur again Wednesday night.
