THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay Police Service Cyber Crime Unit has made an arrest in connection with an ongoing investigation into possession of child pornography.

The Thunder Bay Police Service’s Cyber Crimes Unit started an investigation on November 3, 2019, after information was received that a local Internet user had uploaded files suspected to be child pornography.

Police report that “An ongoing investigation revealed the suspicious files were consistent with child pornography. Investigators were also able to identify the local Internet user.

“As a result of these findings, investigators obtained and executed a search warrant for a residential address in the 200 block of Varsity Place on Monday, January 20, 2020.

During the search police located multiple electronic devices containing images consistent with child pornography.

Christopher D W MCCULLOCH, 36, of Thunder Bay, now faces charges of Possession of Child Pornography.

Christopher D W MCCULLOCH appeared in court on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, and was released with a future appearance date of February 14, 2020.

The investigation is ongoing.

None of the charges have been proven in court.
