Dryden OPP Seize Stacks of Cash - Two Face Pile of Charges

DRYDEN – NEWS – The Ontario Provincial Police report that on January 12, 2020, at approximately 1:19 pm officers from the Dryden Detachment conducted a traffic stop on Highway 17 in Wainwright Township, just west of Dryden.

As a result of the stop, police seized a large quantity of Canadian Currency.

Two men, Tommy DEMORIZI (29-years-old) and Moise VALERIO-HERNANDEZ (34-years-old) of Montreal, QC were charged with the following Criminal Code Offences:

  •  Trafficking in property obtained by crime s.355.2
  • Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5000 s. 354(1) (a)
  • Laundering Proceeds of Crime s. 462.3(1) (a)

Both accused will appear on March 2, 2020, in the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charges.

This incident is still under investigation and Dryden OPP officers were assisted by the North West Region Canine Unit.
