THUNDER BAY – Councillor-at-Large Mark Bentz who also sits as the Budget Chair sat down with NetNewsLedger to talk about the proposed 2020 Budget for the City of Thunder Bay.

Councillors are likely to face some late nights in the coming weeks as they work to put together the city budget.

Bentz shares a deputation from January 9th where an elderly citizen shared how the cost of living in our city is impacting her.

The Budget Chair is concerned that there isn’t enough capital spending in the proposed budget to keep up the infrastructure the city already has. The lack of maintenance at facilities like the Centennial Conservatory and Dease Pool are examples of the impact of that lack of capital spending on infrastructure in the budget Bentz shares.

Council will continue work on the 2020 Budget – and NetNewsLedger will keep you up to speed on that work.
