THUNDER BAY – NEWS – A 48-Year-Old Thunder Bay man has been arrested and charged with two charges. First Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order, and second Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
Thunder Bay Police Service officers were dispatched to the area of Garden Avenue just after 10:30 am on Sunday, December 29, 2019, following a 911 call reporting a suspicious male.
The caller contacted 911 on behalf of a male who came to their door and requested police be called. The male said he was being chased, and then fled.
The caller gave police a description of this man’s vehicle and the direction he was travelling in.
Officers located the male and conducted a traffic stop on West Arthur Street.
Police learned the male was unlicensed. The male was also in possession of a rifle, which was in the back seat of his vehicle, contraband tobacco, and more than $5,000 in Canadian currency.
A 48-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm Contrary to A Prohibition Order, and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000.
He was expected to appear in bail court in Thunder Bay on Monday, Dec. 30.
